Long story short, NSWKBA insured intermediate kiter ignores advice of others in strong, gusty winds. Has already crashed the kite on the beach twice.
Dude gets lofted off the beach onto the grass. Kite luffs, bar is in a death grip pulled in at full power. Next loft sends him across a road into the side of my car.
Substantial damage to the car, a couple of decent cuts and bruises on the kiter.
Crew rush to his aid, stabalize him and keep him comfortable till the ambulance arrives. Never to be seen again. No enquiries or offer of help re my car. No word of thanks to those who assisted him at the scene.
Dude then leaves the country and heads for Fiji. Doesn't even hang around to complete the insurance procedures. This seriously hampers my claim, which drags on for months. I'm out of pocket some $2000 due to damaged equipment in the car plus $600 excess.
A big word of thanks to NSWKBA for going above and beyond in their efforts, and ensuring the claim went through. A difficult task due to the fact that the perpetrator of the accident had done a runner.

Seriously kkiter....was that blokes name..... BRUCE.....when I clamped that bloody wound shut I asked him his name .... he just said Sh!!!!!!!t so I figured that was it.

Thank goodness for insurance. It's a sorry day when folks disappear without so much as a thanks to the helps or sorting out the damage they have done.
