Laurie, great work with the forums, any chance of getting a NSWKBA group at the bottom of the page?
Newcastle area dudes, I'm thinking with a few others of organising a few "social kite gatherings" read " number of" rather than a series, in the nobbies and squids area later this year and into next year......
im thinking in the line of maybe ride/demo days, freeride style days, maybe even waveriding comps, and *maybe* even a course style comp , like a race track with obstacles sliders, jumps, bouys, whatever etc......
This is just a vision at the moment. I know how to get the " ok " to run the events... , I wouldn't mind getting an idea of who would be interested in doing it... and if there were any comps.... if any1 would be interested in either sponsoring events or how they can help out, again if there interested...
For comp stlye say To stop the requirement of lots of people being needed .. heats would be pretty long, like an hour say with 8-10 riders.., the riders not in the heat judging.. top x go through and those not riding judge next heat.
any ideas , numbers, daggers welcome, pm me if needed

Hey Nick,
I'm pretty keen to get the same sort of thing organised down here in Sydney. Maybe we could hook something up, maybe a get together up there, then the next one down here, one on the central coast etc.
I haven't looked into it too much but would love to get something going. If you need any help organising I can put in a bit of time. I'm about to start a new job so can't dedicate myself to it completely but I'll put in as much effort as possible to get it going.
We've got a few little sliders and stuff that we could use down here too, plus there's the Brighton - Dolls Point - Kurnell circuit that could be used for some type of race format, and waves at Cronulla.

Hi Nick and Jeff,
I can't find a way to send either of you PMs, but could you please contact me on gavin.stevenson @ measurement.gov.au (leaving out the spaces) as we are really keen to get together with both of you and organise some events and offer you support. We are still getting set up at NSWKBA and we want to get motivated locals like yourselves involved so we can better represent our members. We are having a committee meeting tomorrow night (Aug 30th) and I'd like to speak to you before then if possible.

Cheers! .. Gav and I tossed around the idea before - if the NSWKBA would like to have a group here, I've not hesitation in creating the group, but it must (like the other groups) be authourised by their committee.
