You can use an LEI for snow kiting but I would only recommend it in soft snow. If it is icy and sharp I would worry about your leading edge. There are a couple of threads here about snowkiting which I have commented on. One thing is your kite will only be useful in lighter wind ranges. You don't need the same amount of power on the snow.

AND be aware that the kite is going to be a monster to relaunch if you drop it.
Inflatables pull heaps on snow when they are in relaunch position, and you just get dragged into and over things while you are trying to load the lines enough to get the blimp back in the air.

Short answer is no, get a foil, they are designed for snow use.

Its possible, but extremely not a good idea anywhere except very large wide open places with nothing to hit or get dragged into or over.

Many good foils available, Ozone, PL, Flysurfer, Flexi, etc. Go larger sized depower, something like 9/10M for an average weight rider of 80kg.

There are other forums that have a few 2nd hand foils for sale at the moment (for far less than $1200)...... or convert to flysurfer and use the same kites for snow and water. Works for me.

AND the only model of Flysurfer that has been designed for snow is "2COOL" and unfortunately you can not use it on water.

You can use them ALL on the snow. Even the FS team riders use the Pulse2, psycho3 and speed2 on snow..... not the 2cool.

I guess if money is no object then just buy a kite for all occasions. I probably woudl if i won the lotto ;)
