The best thing about that video was the wipeouts at Peahi.
The rest looked pretty scratched together. I mean, if you have your kite team in Hawaii and the wind is ON, and they are doing lots of great riding, then why would you fill a kite video with Langeree and his mates paddling outriggers, paddling SUP's, lolling on the beach at the Pipe Masters, etc, etc?
I get the feeling it was a great winter for swell but wasn't so good for wind, despite what Robby says at the start.
Sell the lifestyle, not the sport... I don't think it was meant to be a hard out-kite movie, just all the boys in Hawaii enjoying themselves, with plenty of opportunity to associate the brand Naish with living the dream.
I thought it was a good video, I'm not a keen fan of watching freestyle unhooked moves over and over, to me after about 3 minutes, they all start to look the same. So in my mind the amount they had was probably about right.
But showcasing the Hawaiian lifestyle, all the things they have to offer is what kept me watching. Not to mention, those SUPs were Naish bits of gear, good bit of cross promotion on his part. I'm almost surprised they didn't have any footage of the guys giving some windsurfing a go!
Maybe they didn't have a lot of wind, there wasn't much big air action, kitelooping craziness going on, which is what I like to see.
