Hi all,

Ive seen a few guys using surfoard type boards at the beach and was considering getting one as my lightwind / choppy board. I have never ridden one so i dont know :-)

Is this a good idea or should I just get a spleene door??

Cheers

If you just want something that is easier to get out in light wind then just get a big wide twin tip e.g. nobile flying carpet. If you want something for waves and that can get you out in lighter wind but also where you are more focused on actually riding the board then get a surfboard.

Get a light wind board, surfboards are for wave riding but the new riders are now using for flat water. The surfboard will have to be light for tricks. A big twin tip board is the best for light wind sessions cheers

I use a surfboard as a light wind board and like it, but you need something quite wide and with minimal rocker. I personally find it more fun than a huge twin tip, and you will learn a new set of skills. Once the wind is up I always swap back to my TT however.
