“The Maloja Wind kicked in very early and strong from the beginning, but still I decided to compete with the new 2009 Cult 15m. This kite turns so quickly. During the whole race I was well powered although the wind was very gusty and changed from almost no wind up to 30 knots. Even gusts of 30 knots were no problem to handle."

15m in 30knot gusts?
sure....

perhaps he doesn't kiteboard? maybe his sport involves getting lifted off his feet and slamming into buildings? in which his 15m in 30kts would have been an ideal set-up

hmmm... could possibly be true. The Maloja is a thermal wind generated in the Swiss Alps and the location would most likely be Lake Silvaplana, being on roughly 1800m above sea level. The air is thin and therefore you need bigger kites

very gusty ... up to 30 knots

I read that as the highest recorded gust was 30kts. Easily doable I'd say, years ago I had a 21 up with a highest recorded gust of 23kts, hard edging and a pull on the 5th every now and then and the rest of the session was great.

At least every few newsletters they have a comp to enter .. I never seem to win though

Yer, I thought I better agree with everyone otherwise they'll start lecturing me about that guy in TC Fay! (i took a 13 out in 7 knots once, powered enough to do like nothing but ride easily, wouldnt even try in over 12 knots on a 13m)
