Hey. My mystic warrior spreader bar has a hook designed more for unhooking, pic below. It's quite small and I tend to unhook unintentionally. It's sewn into the pad and I can't swap with an old bar I have. Anyone know where I can pick up a pad and bar with a more curved hook such as the bottom pic that will suit?
Any help appreciated.

I had the same problem with my Firestarter harness and also looked to see if Mystic did a slightly more 'forgiving', hook/ bar. I never found one so your only option is to replace the whole bar/ spreader ensemble with a different brand that the Warrior will accomodate, or flog it and get sumthink else!

Other prob is if your Mystic has the Clicker Bar wotsit, you may find you can't replace the bar alone.

Anyway, I found the solution was to wait for the Firestarter to break one of my lower ribs before getting rid of it, wearing ION B2's til I healed, then buying an ION Apex waist harness :o) Still not massively "hookey", but more than the Mystic and I've not unhooked unintentionally yet (doh!)

Funny you mention the Apex harness as I've just picked up a 2011 apex x-spine harness hoping it would replace the mystic. The hook is better than the mystic but i think i should have gotten a large not a medium as I find it really digs in on my lower ribs. Because of this I'm now trying to pick up a bar for the mystic as it is a pretty comfy harness. Just listed the apex on ebay, probaly lose a few dollars but them's the breaks

I've had that issue and also helped many customers solve the unexpected unhook issue too.
Just bend the hook, the hook is quite strong and can take the force of bending in a vice or with a hammer. If you do it with a hammer use some wood so that you don't hit the metal directly with the hammer, bend it until it is almost U shaped when viewed side on.

I do wonder, coz if you look at the marketing blurb for the Mystic harnesses, the shot of the Clicker Bar hook most definitely shows a more pronounced hook. I wonder if there is one out there somewhere....

As for the ION harness, sorry to hear your having probs with the fit. I tried both Med & Lge before buying....

Yeah, I did mess around with trying to bend it once. I was unsure if this would effect the integrity of the welds and also had trouble getting a good grip as the bar is sewn into the pad. Maybe I will make a more determined effort. Thanks for the response.

I am mindful after doing tricks to check that the chicken loop is in place. Most of the unhooking happens if I'm doing something like a hooked in backroll with a loop. If my timing's off a bit I tend to have my feet higher than my head and with the twist from the kiteloop, the chicken loop can slide off, even with the donkey in place. It's been a while since I bothered doing a deadman for the obvious reasons.

1. as mentioned a vice would work best to bend it as you would not have to worry about it slipping

2. what kite/bar do you use becuase some donkey dicks dont work aswell as others and should be made stiffer to reduce this problem. eg. my slingshot rally Donkey dick
