Hi Planning a kiting trip trip to Shark bay, Monkey Mia, Tamala Stn, Useless Loop.

Looking for advice please:

Best time of year? Thinking of mid Oct but open to suggestions.
Places to camp?
Best spots to kite? Prefer flat water.

How much of an issue are the stone fish?
Have 6yo can he swim safely?

Flat water can't go past either big lagoon ( sharks) or little lagoon ( stonefish )

I spent 5 days recently {6 weeks ago} kiting around Denham and Shark Bay,as Harry Porter said both lagoons are great but need a 4wd to get to the big lagoon and just out of Denham about 1.5 km is a great flatwater spot

We stayed at eagles nest ,I think, $10 a night per person, not much there ,no toilets or showers but there are caravan parks in town and resort accomadation

Bring a small kite for October, think it could get very windy 30kts

Great downwinders from Eagles Nest back to Denham, will see heaps of wildlife,eg sharks, turtles, manta rays

Great swimming spots for kids.

Stone fish in little lagoon are an issue, I'd stick to the coast with kids as the little buggers are painful (stonefish I mean... or do I?)

Have fun!

great options for all wind directions along the pinnacle, stone fish tend to be along the inlet to little lagoon more than the actual lagoon, great area for flat water riders, a scenic flight to dirk hartog is well worth doing, big lagoon on the peron national park is a top flat water spot, an awd will get you in but 4x4 is a better option, great fishing if you have a dingy, or whiting off the beach,
