Glucosamine Mitochondrite with MSM is your best bet....
So I tore my Medial Collateral back in March 05, and the only way I have been able to get it even close to back to normal has been this, and a heap of physio.
Also, look at bending a little more at the knee, making your quads take more of the pressure changes, rather than any jolts vertically from a straighter knee position. Have a look online for some of the physio exercises that help build up your "VMO"...
