Too big to post. Bus freight is over $70. The courier I tried was more again. Any alternatives I've not considered?

ive used busfreight quite a bit for boards, shouldnt be more than 20-30 :(

sadliers are the biggest truck ex west oz
they charge about $1 per kg - for books that is
a surfboard then you're paying for the space
then work it out at $250 per cubic metre.
er take the fins out first or they won't be there when it gets to melb. the $70 you got quoted seems about right considering its a one off and you're not giving them any volume

Definitely Greyhound. Used it before. Its cheap and good. pretty reliable too.
