I've heard mostly good reviews for the Liquid Force Spectrum II, but some say they are unstasble. Nemesis sounds good but why so cheap? Surely they're made more cheaply or else no-one would own any other kite!
Any comments?

BEST products are great quality. The reason why they are cheaper than others is because we buy direct from BEST and then sell to the customer. This cuts out wholesalers. This is where the savings are. You lay a BEST out beside any other kite and youl find that the quality and materials are much the same.

I can send an 8mtr NEMESIS to you on trial. email me and we will sought this out.

Thanks

my fav kite i have ever owned- i have a fuel, CO2 and of coursea nemesis.

How ever i dislike pumping up my nemesis- v.annyoing
the construction whilst does not look bad- i havent had any holes or any repairs needed and my nemesis has been through it all (going inside out, flying down the beach, countless crashes).

Although i have noticed a few wrinkle marks but this could just be noticable cuz the kite is yellow.

So i would say
performance- can match it or beat the competitors
construction- does not look as bombproof however i have no reason as yet to fault it, i don't like how you pump it up
durability- excellent so far

this being said this is an 8m and my Fuel is an 11m, people always say smaller kites are better.

But i would definately say the nemisis's are well worth thier price

Well u've all heard me cut loose at Bow stlye kites ect...

I wanna hear how other people like the nemesis's
-if they have flown them
-seen them **** up
-seen good stuff with them

my BFK 18 is the ducks nuts. as durable as my caution, if not slightly better in construction, only thing i hate about it is pumping up the tip struts. they should have gone with an integrated design.

I tend to agree with you there. The new 06 gear protos will arrive in the next 2 weeks or so and will comment on the construction and changes then.

I dropped my 12 nem in the surf a couple of weeks ago in rough conditions. It got hit with a couple of waves before I got it back up
and had no issues with any damage whatsoever.
There are around 12 nems flying around here now - no one has had any
quality issues - just lot's of hangtime!!

I also considered a nemi, but after checking them out, IMO there are much better kites out there than Best and LF. Put either one next to a Slingy or North and you can tell the difference in construction

Just purchased a used 16m 04 Nemesis a couple of weeks ago as my light wind kite. I LOVE it. My experience, so far... is that it is easy to handle, smooth & responsive and forgiving in gusty conditions. Can't comment on "jumpability" (haven't started jumping yet). I have found purchasing a used one in decent condition a pretty inexpensive way to get into the sport.

Great kites. They go upwind well, are very stable, jump great.

Construction is fine & I have had no durability problems. Most of my mates fly them as well and we reckon they are great value for money.

The biggest difference between these kites is the Price. Best kites are almost 1/2 the price of the brands you listed. I am a huge fan of Slingshot and NORTH gear and these 2 brands are the highest sellers through our store. However Best gear is great for those who cannot afford those brands and also for groms who are into it aswell.

think you will find liquid force are pretty close to best prices and i would recommend the spectrum 11's from personal experience.
i never had stability problems really, unless it is waaaay light.
they are prob both good kites, you should try n have a crack at both of em.

My advice would be to shop around - you may be able to pick up an older model North, Naish, whatever, for around the same price as a Nemi or a Spectrum 2. I don't think you would miss out much on perfomance by buying an older model compared to a Best.
If you can, try and fly before you buy then you can make your own mind up

on puming them up
-they dont have one pump :(
-for my kite need to use two different attachments to pump up the different size valves.
-Their is like 7 struts to pump up, 3 without balls (annoying on 8m)

Thats about it, its really just me being lazy, i luv them tho they are such a fun kite, fast, reliable, stable

The only bad Best was the Hellfish... it's a pity the rest get a bad rep from that disaster.

My BFK 21 is, as Bondo said, the duck's nuts. Great kite at a great price, very sweet to fly. It's a whole new love affair that's building every time I take it out.

The person who sold it to me (not mentioning any names..) , who also flies liquid forces, missed it so much he went out and brought a new one exactly same. That says something about how good they are.
