20 to 25 Knts every day.

Scores of Kickass Groms doing reverse handle passes on 7M kites in one foot of water over coral.

400 meter walk to the beach.

Kite heaven if you are skilled - 10 meter kite is the norm

Some awesome waves too - but you need a 20-40 minute boat ride out to the reef. Note that you can't kite Isle de Pins - shame as it's a really beautiful spot

Great place, windsurfed there about 15 years ago, moderate cross shore trade winds every day, close to paradise.

One tip, stay in hotel/resort in Noumea, most are right on the beach anyway, with all meals prepaid, otherwise it was very very expensive to eat out.

The french are a bit uppity, the islanders are fantastic. cheers and enjoy.

I've also heard from some locals, who are french speaking Australians that kiting is banned on all the outer islands, something to do with a native getting injured by a wind warrior kiter several years ago.

Great conditions around Noumea though, reliable wind, mostly great locals, although some have no idea of right of way or upwind flies high. Slightly exxy, maybe over 20% more than Oz, but if you get out of town prices are similar to oz for accomo and food. Example, local beer in hotel around $7 per stubbie, same beer at a local small supermarket $3!!

Just make sure you don't go there with a low sitting off the coast. Turned the easterly trade into a light westerly and we were skunked for a week.
Stayed at the meridien which is right at the kitespot. Found a good deal on their website at the time so we got about 25% off.
The main Noumea spot is offshore wind, nice and flat but just make aure there is enough wind to stay upwind!
We got one of the schools to tske us out to Ilot Maitre, looked like a cool place but we had max 12 kts.
Lastly watch out for bedbugs in the Meridien, we got eaten alive.
