Hey tgladman,

You can't really do hands off the bar tricks on modern depower kites unless you have a mini loop to keep the bar in to full power.

Back in the old days, the kites only depowered about 20% so the loss of lift was minimal and allowed this sort of trick.

We also used to use a harness line loop as well as the chickenloop to keep the bar pulled in to full power. It always was fraught with danger.

I pulled a big deadman last year to the astonished eyes of the newbies who had never seen it before, they loved it. I was using the Core ESP Bar and Core GTS. North also do a retrofit miniloop to acheive the same.

You'll never land one on a modern depower SLE/Delta/Hybrid as you know, you drop like a stone.

^^^^Let go of the bar and you will drop like a stone, and even a quick one will drop you so fast you cant recover the kite .
Dead men can be done on a modern depower kite by using the stopper most kites have. First pull the stopper in about 3cm above where you have the bar and practice jumping. Your takeoff pop has to be precise as most will do long horozontal jumps and you will be landing powered, Basically you are making your kite behave lake an old C. Stoppers are hard to release under load and youll need lots of space as you will take a pounding at some time. Other Variations to lean a good dead-man are. Candlesticks (a dead man without letting go) and before jumping release the donkey dick, do a normal jump and unhook at the apex of the jump and practice landing, then throw in an unhooked candlestick variation once you get better. Unhooked is safer as you can let go of a powered landing. With the stopperball trimming the kite, welcome to kitesurfing 6 years ago.

ye agreed, almost every kite, c-kite or not has a stopper, you dont need a mini loop, just pull the stopper in

Is this a C kite with bow kite performance?
If it doesn't have bridals just say "no way, Im a kook, I need bridals to feel safe cause the guy at the shop told me C kites don't work."

a deadman is everything that is wrong about kiting condensed into one horrible move.

You actually cant do a deadman on a modern C-kite without pulling in the stopper, its not just SLEs.

Finally saw the vid, nice kite. Another Variation of the Vegas, RPM,Park style of kites. Does it come canopy only like best kites do?

You can only do a proper deadman while wearing kitepants and riding a pickle-fork.

Yes, Like all Best kites, bar and kites are sold separately which gives you the option to run 1 bar with 2 kites etc.

As for comparing the GP to the RPM and Park, I disagree, and this is no Vegas either.

The design of the leading edge is really where the performance differences lie. Best call it the Reflex LE(patent pending) which is a reversed curvature of the LE. This feature alone sets it apart from any other C kites in the industry because it introduces shock absorption to the canopy. Pretty much when you unhook and load the Reflex LE absorbs this load, and when you release from the water it generates kick ass pop but then releases the weight on the bar so that you have a mid air floating bar to pass.

Similar to flex in a board, this concept now exists in the kite. Super cool.

This is a 5 line C kite, not an SLE or Open C etc.

haha, i stand by my comment despite the risk of a banhammer to the head.

a deadman involves no board skills, little kite skill, is showy, attention-seeking, and is essentially hanging upside down while dangling like a tea bag. everything bad about kiteboarding in one move.

Thanks for the feedback Joe, Is it a tensioned fith line? I only compared it to theRPM, Vegas etc. 'cause it loops so smoothly. Its it full high performance, or aimed for a bored SLE rider?

I used to work in a kitestore selling various brands. Dont discount best. Their durability and performance in the last 3 years is second to none.Block and tackle system not pulleys used on wear points, The easiest kite to teach on and fly ( Kahoona), and the 2006-7 waroo shape was made up till this year. Are you holden or ford or do you just want a good car?

Yeh the GP is a loaded 5th line and cannot be flown with out. It is very High performance and offer some key features that no other brand does, but it is still quite user friendly, so cannot see why any experienced rider wouldn't have fun on it.
