just tell them straight you are interested in the xxxxxx and want to demo before comiting to part with a load of cash.
if they say no to your face then just tell them no demo no sale and walk out.
the mark up on new gear is huge and losing a sale just like that is not a small thing to most shops as they are counting kites out the door very carefully.
the kites you are interested in/boards are sold at more than one shop in perth and supporting the shop with the best customer service is a good way to make your kiting more enjoyable
i try and stick with the shops that have a good reputation for customer service.
just to add,
huey at full tilt is doing the right thing since taking controle so dont shy away just because jason has sold it on

(only saying that because lots of jasons loyal customers have been scared off as they only knew jason as the fulltilt guy)
