On the pirate bay issue, people/business need to embrace technology, and evolve their business ideas to take advantage of the opportunitys it presents. Not bury there heads in the sand and cry when people take advantage of the benefits it provides to the consumer.

If you invest in something you expect a return on investment?
All the benefit is one sided and goes to the consumer.
If you had to pay what it was worth to produce(not what you think it is worth), you would not download, you would simply go to the free version that would start up down the road.
You are right in that businesses will eventually need to do something with this technology but:
In order to stay in business you have to make money.
If you go to work every day, you expect to be paid.
I can just see the business model you would come up with.
Spend heaps getting it all together then put it on the net for free
How will you feed the kids tomorrow?
How could you afford kites?
