Saw in the local rag that "Henry" the 8 yo 1.5Tonne elephant seal is back for his annual moult. He is currently pulled up at Pt Lonsdale - he likes to go and lie on the road at night as its nice and warm.

Last year (and for what I know probably many years previous), he pulls up at Pt Henry near the toilet block for a few weeks/months. He was about the size of a small car last year (3m long) and when he rears up would be about 6' tall.

Last year they put up a barrier as a warning - it wouldnt have stopped jack. I think he lives on straying Jack Russell's & other small yappy things...

I reckon he might just squeeze into your wetty & harness tho

its actually funny that they have hired a full time security guard to stop people during the day and night from poking him. Henry went on the road to sleep 3 nights ago and they had heeps of trouble getting him back on the beach - had to push him with a bulldozer with lights and sirens going off.
