I found these on the net and also found that my local marine store is selling them for $149.
I reckon it might be OK to wear them for some dedicated filming sessions. They look a little bit like the goggles that speed kiters are wearing.

coastflyer,
Don't know about the Videomask - I have the GoPro Hero 5 which is small, very compact and comes with many varied attachment options (helmet, board, body). The only thing I would say is make sure the camera is at least 5 Megapixles or more (the old GoPro was 3 and the recording quality was poor).
Not sure I would want to stack a trick with "goggles on" as apposed to a helmet with the Gopro.
My ho.

All - anyone got a Gopro and sorted the attachment to the kite - would appreciate the advice.

I bought this 3 weeks ago: www.panasonic.com/au/404/?productID=7145
It's HD 720p and has image stabilization and a couple other cool things.

I wish the lens was wider though... it's wide for a camera, but it's not fisheye wide.

Quality is really good, but the movie files are HUGE and I had a hard time editing them with either Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas... so I then had to convert them to another format which made them even bigger. So 2 hours of video = 190GB.
U can always set the camera to use mpeg, but then the max size is 2gb so around 30mins recording. Or if your not into editing your done.

I attached the camera to the board using an ebay suction tripod ($10)... and then to my helmet with the same tripod using cable ties.

I looked at other camera's like the Go, ContourHD, but bang for $ the panasonic won. $450 with a 16GB card @ JB.

That Panasonic FT1 is what I am looking at - would be able to use it for pretty much anything.

There is also a mounting system for sale on SB that is compatible with the FT1.

The editing aspect is the part I need to get around though

What mounting system?

The editing is a real b**ch, if you use the AVCHD codec, mpeg is fine, but like I said 2GB max length... where as AVCHD will use as much space as fits on the memory card divided in to 4GB files.

Note the battery only last 1.5hrs while recording.

Encoding the AVCHD in to another format some times doesn't work either, the program I used (Cineform Neo Scene), crashes sometimes. And take for ever too. I'm looking at buying VoltaicHD.

But this is the nature of HD video, it just kills anything that isn't a super computer... I have to turn the AC on the office or otherwise the room heats up to much when editing.

I fly a foil, but I imagine cable tying the camera to a bladder of LEI would give spectacular results.
