Hey guys, just wondering what some good locations around Newcastle/Lake Macquarie region are to kite in SE wind, noticed the wind should be that way tomoz... Small or no waves and a safe spot is what i'm after as i'm a newbie,
cheers

Have a look at www.nswkba.com.au click on "Kite Spots" and scroll down to get to the Newcastle and Lake Maquarie sections, HEAPS of spots there, and good wind directions are listed.

Also click on "Contact us" for the names and details for the Newcastle Kite Club, they will be happy to give you some advice about where to kite in SE.

Might I suggest Myuna Bay - I learnt there and I had the whole place to myself. Huge, lots of flat and relatively shallow water, nice grassy rig-up area. If the SE kicks in tomorrow, I am heading there myself!

Jonny - I don't mind blacksmith's beach in a SE or a SSE (not S - too turbulent). On the beach side of the channel breakwall is quite protected from swell - you just need to make sure you don't venture down the beach too far as you will be too near the flags.

Stockton would have to be the best place in a SE. Get up in behind the breakwall for flat water riding.
