I'm a little skeptical about that one Lach since I found out the chap who started it is doing quite well for himself financially from it.

I understand charities have operating costs, but the story I read had this guy unabashedly toasting his personal financial success from movember.

Besides, I look real bad with a mo.

Real bad, mother shuts the door in my face bad.

still its the only time a bloke with a wife and 3 girls can legally grow a mo and any money going towards cancer in blokes has gotta be a good thing (my dad died from cancer young and my uncle had prostate cancer ) I'm not that troubled that the bloke behind the idea has done well for himself .The ****ers who run the banks strip billions from their customers and give little in return (I and many others have been ****ed around by the banks and their ****yy service forever ) and they give stuff all out of their multi million pay packets to charity.

Because thats what its all about [}:)]

As well as raising money it's about raising awareness about mens health, and has been pretty successful in that regard! I'd join you Lach but already in a team

Can't argue with any of that.

My brother died at 33 after a 25 year visit from a malignant brain tumor. Cancer really is f#@ked.

Still, I look terrible with a mo, not even porn star terrible, just stay away from that guy, is he for real, why wouldn't he shave it off terrible.

That's my excuse anyhow.

For anyone who is interested i found this in Wiki pedia
"In 2007, the Movember Foundation events were featured on Australian tabloid current affairs program Today Tonight, which accused the foundation of spending a disproportionate amount on running costs and high salaries for its directors.[14] The financial summary of the Australian 2008 Movember campaign listed campaign costs (administration and fundraising) as being 8% of the total amount raised.[15][16] In 2007, campaign costs were listed as 9% of total amount raised.[17] Givewell reports that in 2008, the "Average Fundraising Cost Ratio" (fundraising costs as percentage of total fundraising revenue) for Australian charities was 18%."

I watched something on professional fundraising the other day .If i recall some well known Aussie charities had overheads and fundraising costs that were considerably higher.

yeh cool, good to hear its not a total ripoff. I saw that current affairs show a couple of years back too and remember being a bit shocked. At the end of the day if it wasn't for movember there'd be less money and awareness for mens health so a ferrai here or there for the directors doesn't worry me too much these days. Wish it was me who got it off the ground!
