Hey Guys,

Considering moving east, whats the kiting like - season, frequency and wind strength like.

Hopefully going to escape the Perth winter and the Mining slump. What sustainable industries are there in Newcastle and Brisbane?

Am I going to have to upsize my quiver from a 9m and 12m (with surfboard)?

Cheers
Rich

We're all hoping up here that the knob above moves to one of the places he mentions so we no longer have to be embarrassd to live in the same state as him.

You'll be right with a 9/12 here in SE Qld but the wind is a little patchy at this time of the year. Come Aug/sept she'll be blowing 15-25 somewhere from the east most arvos.
If you come over now can you bring some of ya WA wind with you?

Saying that we got out just about every arvo last week

Cheers, Chris.

Hey Rich, I have just moved back to newcastle after two years in Perth..

What I will say about the wind over here is, in Perth I could ride in 12 kts, powered 14-16kts on my 12.

Over here I need 14-20 to ride and 20 does not feel overpowered on my 12... so ( imagine taking ~ 3-5 kts off the wind meter and I would say then it's comparable to WA winds )

Your smaller kites won't see too much use until winter westerlies hit,

Season is alot smaller than WA, Ive had one good ride in four weeks since Ive been here - (to light)

IT rains and storms / is cloudy i think 3-4 das out of 7 in the middle of summer, would be the biggest difference between Newy and Perth
