Hi All!

I like nice stories...even when they are a bit sad. So here's one!

The wind expectation when i woke up this morning was a red wind day...

So I decided to ride my pushbike to the City in order to get ride of this frustration from the lack of wind...

However there was this slim chance of a yellowish period around 11ish... This idea was trotting in my head while I was pedalling east...

Hmmm... While I was pedalling I could hear the sound of this wind in my ear!!!! That's yellow and that means it's my 13m!!! YEAAAH!!! So I stopped!

But, hey! Where's the wind gone???

Back to the reality of a sad sad red day

So I started pedalling again... Pedalling against this reddish easterly... Keep telling myself this noise in my ear is the apparent wind from my riding... keep telling myself... keep telling myself... but not believing it!!! 500 m after my first stop, the sound of this good 15 knot sound in my ears made me euphoric again!!! YEAAAH!!! I was convinced again that the wind picked up!!! So I stopped!

Sad red reality. I could only hear a 10 knot wind around me!!!

I reached Mounts Bay Road... So hard to pedal against this wind... Must be yellow!!! I stopped!

Sad red reality again...

Arriving near the city... I watched this raw of flags dancing frenetically in the air... For sure, must be yellow!!! Euphoric, I stopped again!

Guess what? Still big red!

I can hardly believe i stopped two more times after that just to listen to the wind and confirm that I was wrong... Confirmed both times!

So ok, today was a red day. It is the reddest day i have noticed for a long time...

But I took tomorrow off , I can see some yellow in the forecast graphs!!! Yeah! Let's burn something and pray! I want to be on the ocean tomorrow!

Cheers!

Fred

Wow FVER, you have a serious case of wind anxiety. I had it for several years too, and still get it, mainly in cars. Have to stop and check the wind! LOL's

Yesterday while walking to work I noticed a glint of light going upwards from the sign post on the end of the groin at Dolls, when I was about 150M away, thought wtf and kept listening to a tune and walking.
Got to the sign and I can see a fishing line attached to it, just going up into the air at about a 45 degree angle - upwards? WTF?
Still not thinking the obvious.
Staring up the line wondering if someone has been testing a Skyhook, I see a tiny dot of colour way, way, way up in the sky.
I check the ground and it looks like a whole roll of fishing line is attached to this kite!
It was to be approx 1000'+ in the sky.
I was early for work so decided to start reeling it in, there was only one father and his two young sons in sight about 100M down the beach. They made no effort to contact me when I started reeling in the kite (we are close to an airport and this was well outside the CAA rules)
30 mins later and now late for work, blisters on my left hand I get this 1M wingspan delta single line kite down.
I walk up to the guy with the kids thinking this #@!%$ has just let me pull down 500M of kite and now he'll probably say thanks thats mine grr!
Nope, Dad knows nothing about the kite.
I aks him if he wants it to play with his sons, he eagerly says yeah and I warn him not to fly it in this area.

And on funniest home vids on Sat night there is a clip of a guy jumping bdaly just upwind of a boat and then slamming the person holding the video camera - all you can see for the last few seconds is a large UNDERGOUND heading directly for the lens!! LOL's

On another clip a guy trying to launch a single line kite for a kid runs straight into his pool! Very funny!

Cya and

Goodwinds

Something bit me on the ankle, I'm not sure what it was but now I have a big red angry foot, I think it might have been a spider hiding in my sock. Bad spider.

I was down at Pinaroo this morning being an optimist. Didn't get out on the water but do have something to report. Firstly there's bugger all beach left on the point, some of the fence along the dunes has been eroded away/disappeared.

Secondly; when I arrived there was a security guard parked in the carpark which is nice to see when your car's looking lonely and there's no one else much about. Then there was a cop car leaving just before I left. As I'm driving out I see a silver purse lying in the middle of the road, both the security guard and the cop car would have driven over it, would have to be blind to miss it. It's got a drivers licence and keycard in it so I rang the cop station and reported it. Their response is: drop it down to the station sometime (I suggested they could come round and pick it up) or look this person up in the phone book and give them a call. Very helpful, see: "couldn't give a ....". Incidentally I drove past a motorbike cop - on the way down to the beach - hiding behind a tree and pointing his radar gun at me. Oh and i'm being prosecuted for fare evading on the train cos I asked some little jumped up transit guard nazi what to do if I forgot to tag on at the beginning of my journey. Simple answer: buy a ticket or tag on here and just pay the default maximum fare, his answer, you've broken the law and you'll be fined $50 scum.

Is it just me or is the world going screwy?

Sorry for raining on your nice story Fred, loved it.
