Hey there - travelling to Australia for 3 weeks from mid January. Can anybody tell me whether Noosa is still a good bet at this time - ie does it still blow regular NE ? Or is it more SE at this time ... and better down Maroochy way ? Really appreciate your help...nothing worse than flying across the world to end up in the wrong place...Thanks !

If you are there and have no wind, go for a stroll down hastings street
and have a laugh at all the cafes with chairs facing the footpath and all the true to form yuppies, business wannabes and sunshine coast mafia - hilarious stuff.

There is about 80km of kiteable coastline on the Sunshine Coast including 3 river mouths; Noosa, Maroochydore and Caloundra. Some of the best downwind stretches you can get and great warm water and good surf. It doesn't matter whether it's NE or SE, you'll definately get some great kiting in.

Yeah, and what's with the chairs facing the street anyway? it certainly made me

Thanks so much to all for the quick responses - really appreciate it. Sounds like there are some good options whichever way...and a lot better than the 15c cold drizzle in the middle of the English "summer" right now...

Capuccinos and Dior sunglasses on Hastings Street...may give that one a miss !

Cheers
