I think its a step in the right direction, a bow without bridles and pulleys is the go. But we wont really know untill we try one , but was told the testing they did at WA was very promising, looks like a nice kite.
Ive seen the proto and talked to the riders...its not a bow! Essentially a vegas with wing tips curved further around. [Thats what they claimed anyway].
The kite is an Impact copy, probably used in developing the Vegas.
The picture was taken before the Vegas was released and before North made their NO BOW policy statement. It would be a very interesting development to see them about face on that one.
After watching you at Dolls Ral Inn on Saturday going out in 40 knot plus winds on a 13.5 meter kite you should maybe go and see Steve at kitepower and get yourself a Bow beacause that was just plain suicide. You were heading for the airport runway had you not been saved, and stop pimping your kites we are all sick of it.Stick to the topic.
That thread's only a few days old RAL INN, maybe you were confused because they use month-day-year. The kite doesn't look like a proto, it's got graphics. Anyway, it seems pretty easy to build a kite shaped like a bow but not officially a bow. Cheaper too. Looks similar to the Ozone instinct, but without the extra rigging at the kite. Wonder if it will suffer problems ozone were trying to eliminate eg inversion, 5th line cutting it in half?
You have to admit though, the pic of the rigging on the forum is exactly identical to that of the f-one tribal, and the kite itself looks like an impact or tribal in a/r shape and tips look the same except maybe it has some cam batterns in there? anyway good move for north if thats what they've done, its allready proven that this design has it over bows in so many areas.
thanks to the guy that came to my assistance, and the windsurfer who later checked on my progress.
The 40+ kts was a gust from where i was situated and prior to that things were Ok. I just popped off the chop at the wrong time and one thing led to another and led to some big air which ended with me travelling thru the air at the same speed as the air hitting the water backwards.
I did however use the safety handles to drag back after deciding that help from my benifactor was only causing us both grief. Landed on the next beach around. Just got Xray results. 4 broken ribs.
this was a classic example of where translating knowledge of your local conditions to a new location doesn't work.
Anyway back to this topic.
The first pics of this Nth popped up way back, as did related threads. i SHOULD HAVE USED THE WORD "THOSE" NOT "THAT". And anyone is free to post us pics of this kite and an Impact then point out the major difernces.
