Has anyone had much luck unhooking with this kite for freestyle?

Any tips on settings, trimmings to make it a little less of a handful would be appreciated !

Have you got it on 4-line or 5-line mode. In my opinion, 5-line mode is much easier. Then if you are nicely powered, pull on most of the depower strap before you unhook. Makes it not bad for unhooking. Obviously its not like the Vegas for unhooking, but its definately fine if its set up alright.

Yes 5th line, I wasnt expecting to be as easy as the vegas for unhooking, even with it fully depowered its still rips the hell out of me with a simple railey, was wondering if there was any fine tuning that could be done at the kite?

Hey mate,

You could change where the cleat sits on your center lines giving you more depower. There is also other knots on the end of the pink safety line about half way up your lines. I am not sure how much that would change the kite though.

Try pulling the floaters up at the bar and move the line attachments to the shorter settings.

If you think the Evo 09 has a lot of pull unhooked, the Evo 08 was worse

Depower the kite more as has been suggested by others. Many people tend to ride the Evo over-sheeted as it is so difficult to back-stall.
