So when do they get in to the Country?

A bit of a sad they... North does not seem to know what to do with the Rebel anymore. Seems that they took most of the slight Delta it had, increased the AR so my guess is that buying 08 kites on close-out might be a great option...Not sure that the 2010 will be that different. The 09 was a great kite for progressing riders since it did not backstall, it did not Edinberg, flew in very light wind and generated good power to pull out my fat ass (12m 185lbs 140X46TT) Great depower but still controllable once sheeted out... A bit of a sad day, let's wait if the Evo gets the One pump in 2010 there might be a bit of hope. Altough most guys a begging north not to put the OP on the Evo... I will go get drunk now.

In 20 words or les what is so bad about the OP?
Is that the feeling on all brands Ops or just the North set-up?

Who are all these kooks that dont want onepump on their kites? I cannot see a situation where a onepump (slingy style) system would be a problem.
1. your kite is inflated in at least half the time.
2. your not dancing around while your kite is nearly taking off in 25knot + winds trying to inflate each strut.
3. you just clamp off your struts and you can see what is leaking.
4. the extra nipples on the leading edge make it nearly impossible to incorrectly put the leading edge back in.
5. its now easy to deflate the whole kite at once so it takes up less room in your car.
6. only 1 nipple gets streched from heat/ age, meaning you only have to fix 1 streched out valve after a period of time instead of 7 or 9.

One pump: Pros: Quick set up, inflation from one point, no need to put sand on your kite while dancing around trying to inflate struts, quick and easy pack down
cons: your kite weighs 10grams more
no one pump: pros: your kite is 10 grams lighter
cons: you got to dance around like a tool pumping up each strut, have to keep your kite down with sand while pumping struts then remove sand to pump LE, takes twice as long to set up..
on a plus i heard the new North bar comes complete with flares, 2 epirbs and an emergency raft... it really has all the bells and whistles this year

hahahahaha^^^ awesome.
Hope your not dumping your kite in the piss... wouldn't wanna add another kg in weight.
If you say F one does it because the struts need to be different psi than the LE I think that is just stupid designing. They need to design for the user and more likely than not the user isn't going to get that stuff right at the beach, they will f#ck it up and just think the kite is crap. If they only need to get the psi reading correct at one valve it is more likely that they will get it right. End result, more users will probably think the onepump kite is better because they rigged it right.
I don't know how many times ive seen people flying with a floppy mess, obviously designers need to make it easier for them, not harder.
Make your choice.
P.s. Yes the valves of slingshot onepump did peel/fall off but I am not talking about their quality issues i am talking about their onepump style system. there are other very similar systems on other brands that don't have this issue.

OK this is going off topic... Rebel 2010... What should we think, last year it was the best sh.t under the sun, the removal of the center strut was allowing a better airflow, Distortion high up not at the tips, lighter so better material on the TE, tougher and flutter free. This year they will say what? ''Suckers we got ya good!'' or ''back to the terrible terrible airflow, but we used crappy and light material, cuz we brought back the middle strut, to increase tip distortion this year, hang on next year we will take it out again...'' Ok it seems that the struts are more towards the wingtips. Anyways, whatever pitch they will have ought to be a piece of balloney or is last year the only time they did this? BTW, next Bandit will be OP, North Op works verywell, no tiewraps so no need to cut anything, no cisors, u can repair your kite on the beach if you have a kitefix kit close by. AND, if you leave your struts inflated and realise 3 days later that the struts are not fully inflated, open the clips, pump it hard a gain and go sail. OP is not about performance (although it provides more uniform air distribution) it is about convinience and in -20 in the winter, I love that convinience...

I remember the old rebels i had 08 i think.
Was a great great kite for general stuff but as soon as you would drive it hard ie loop or such like then the thing would implode into a ball and crash to the ground in a mess.
Was also a PITA to relaunch.
Has that been sorted out yet?

thought the 09 rebel was crap. luv'd the 07 & 08 rebel but they got the 09 wrong.
Its interesting to see the middle strut is back in the 2010....I'm sure that had something to do with the problems with the 09 rebels.

I had the 6m 09 Rebel. Ended up selling all my 08 7m and 10m rebels because the 6m - the smallest of the range - had a bigger range than the 10m (Not wind range necessarily; no backstall, no frontstall, turned well when depowered). I honestly cannot see how people could bag these kites. Maybe it was different for the bigger sizes but this may be the first year 6 years that I don't upgrade to the 'latest and greatest'. I've got all I need!
