No, it hasn't left the factory yet in full production! There were a few samples sent out about a month ago to various countries. They should be available in Aust. by the end of August. Maybe some earlier but I'm not 100% sure!

I was about to purchase a couple of Vegas's... do you think its worth hanging on for a few more months for the Rebel? Also, is the Vegas 18 available in Oz.

Matt,

There are no Vegas 18m in Aus. The Vegas is an amazing kite, Very good for New school orientated tricks. It also has an amazing depower, so very easy to use and safe, especially with the 5th Element. The REBEL will be aimed at a lower level of rider, but is still suitable for the intermediate rider, it will be sort of taking over from the TORO, but it boasts excellent performance in jumping and depower. A new school rider may still prefer the Vegas. It's a hard one to answer without riding the kite yet! If you are more interested in depower and predictable kite responce, then maybe the REBEL, if you want a faster turning, more new skool oreintated kite, maybe go for the Vegas?

I hope this helped a bit! it is a hard question as they are different kites, kinda like comparing 4wd's with station wagons! Both cross over in many feilds, but some excel in feilds that others don't!

regards,
JB

Thanks for that JB... I've flown the 14m and it was an insane kite. I was hoping to go a 18 / 14 combo, but as the 18 isn't available here I will settle for the 16 / 12. Re the 16, how's the bottom end on this kite? I've been told it lacks a little down low?

Hey Matt forget about those North kites and get yourself a Torch or a Raven, just kidding.

The Juz informed me about your good fortune and luck about getting some new kites.Get them before Saturday so you can come and have a session, we are thinking of going to Sandom point for some surf.

King Col might bring his BBQ and we might make a day of it if the wind comes in.

I will give you a call if its on.

Matt,

All the range are proportionally powered! The vegas is the first north kite that you can really fly with more back line presure, but there is a fine line between extra power and stalling, but with a bit of playing around you'll work it out! How heavy are you? I find no need for kites bigger than 16m these days as the power and efficiency of the kite is so much better than years gone by! I would say that unless your 100kg (or there abouts) a 16 should be fine! Hunting down a 16 may be hard, I have no more in stock, try ringing around all the shops in your area!

Matt , had a fantastic session yesterday on the Vegas. JB is spot on about the way you need to fly the kite. If I was learning on the Vegas I think I would get frustrated easily as you do need to dial into the " spot " but once you have worked that out - its full steam ahead.
Menace was out on his 12m and as usual was doing his best to jam us up but it was great to see him right back into it. Looks like his back is coming good. His kite seems well matched to his body weight.
Hope you can catch up on weekend.
cheers
col

Wikid vid, That pretty much explains the REBEL to a T! It is designed with waves, boosting big and depower in mind, and obviously is pretty good for unhooked too!

PR that sounds like privilaged Information.

The ACCC should be informed of a new inside trader.
