We are doing a kitesurfing trip across OZ and have now arrived to the Blue mountains West of Sydney. We are keen to check out the better kitesurfing spots North of Sydney through to Byron Bay. If some crew could tune us in of some of the better kiting destinations that pick up the most wind and waves that would be excellent.
p.s
Streaky Bay in South Australia rocks as a kite surfing destination, heaps of different set ups and waves. Dasha is the local kiter who is good value, if you go ask for him down the pub of give us a call, he would welcome new kiters to the area.
I dont kite, only windsurf but I think Flatrock near Lennox Head would be good.Nice smooth water with good waves . Last time I was there there was a few kiters out.
check out coloundra, it's a little north but worth the drive. The rivermouth is really cool, 5-10kts current going out, 10 -15 kts of wind = 20knt of apparant wind. Very good spot if you get a chance.
I think your right about flat rock, it is an epic k surfing spot - though it needs the right wind - a good southerly - we cruised down there from the Goldy when i was there after christmas and even with a 20 - 30 knot south/easter forecast it didn't kick in. Lucky we took the surfboards though and caught some good waves (would of prefered to kite it though) mabe on the way back through !
Esperance in WA is another classic k surfing destination. Had 4 th beach with about 5 foot of swell and 20 knts of cross shore wind - which made for an epic session !
Hey OZ< Man I know some really sick spots along the entire North coast, GEEZ!! I just cant remember where they are right now ha!ha!. I'll get back to ya son!! enjoy the cruise - I have found a couple more spots for us. great wave locations.
It wouldn't matter how well set up these spots were anyway theres no wind ! The scenery goes a long way to make up for it though !! Having a fat time regardless, to the crew in WA keep appreciating those classic seabreezes and we'll see you soon Zeph !
Hey ozzy it's gonna crank for the next 4 days.. Shame we won't see that red X2 on the eastuary... For what it's worth we haven't had any wind all week here either.
ive just moved from newcastle a couple of weeks ago the reely good spots in newi are usualy nobbys beach, stocton, pellican point near squids inc (on the lake). if you go to squids you might see andrew reigan from board crazy sail boards (top bloke) or at nobbys dave dunno his last name but hees a champ to all the guys on the beach are willing to lend a hand its a top spot
