Just spoke with Mambo Chief John Smythe today and he's confirmed that the 2006 Mambo dates are 23-26 November. Book it in your diary and get ready for another year of kiting, windsurfing and partying! BTW, would encourage EVERYONE to enter the competition, as you just never know who will win. Remember, at Mambo, no one knows what the rules are, who the judges are or why anyone wins. It's all about fun. More info to follow. John also tells me the Merimbula Sailboarding Club web page is down for a while but will be up again in a few days. Meantime, contact me if you need any additional information.

Cheers,

Robbo

>>I heard last year there were heats and things were more "official"> > Yep, that's correct -- the insurance company forced the organisers to define a "contest area" and to run heats if they wanted to get insurance so it was a bit less free-form than previous years but it's still relatively subjective compared to other 'contests'. It's great fun, loads of partying and it's not just about the comp. The photos from last two years events are at: http://www.kitesurfing.com.au/Mambo_2005/MAMBO_2005_ENTRY_PAGE.htm and www.kitesurfing.com.au/Mambo_2004_Galleries.htm

Mambo rocks, the best comp ever!! I will quickely in point form describe the things that make Mambo the best comp in the world!

- The Wikidest BBQ in the Universe. MSC, you guys rock!!
- No rulles (well very little anyway)
- Drinking encouraged, no compolsary!!
- Fun is manditory!
- you will be scored 24/4, your drinking and party abilities are as important as your abilities on the water! NO MORE!!
- the biggest get together of fellow wind sports people!
- For those of us that are not pro's, it's a sample of the life of! Kiteing every day! PArtying every night!
- Prizes for everyone you enters, regardless of your time on the water!
- If you make the effort to be different and loud, you will be noticed and acknoweledged!

there's heaps more! But can't think now! Just go and you'll never regret it!!

See you at Mambo!
