ridden one - feels sick, can't explain it much better than that. Oh, it rails through smooth water like it was made for it. In my opinion an awesome feeling board for cruising about on all day.

www.kitesurfdirect.com.au, they have it for sure.
I own a 150 wide which I might want to sell in the near future. It is an awesome freeride board, carves through chop like butter. I just can't afford to keep two Makos.

I am VERY keen to try one too...
On their website, they talk about 3 different models:
140x40 "FREERIDE"
150x34 "CLASSIC"
150x40 "WIDE"
Not sure which one would be best suited. They all seem to be a bit longer than the average TT board we ride.
If there is anyone around Sydney who owns one and wouldn't mind letting me try it, I would be very grateful!
bye

Awesome boards - I love 'em ...
I'm 85kg and the 140 x 40 does it for me ... the 150 x 34 was sort of replaced by the 150 x 40 wide and it is a much better board IMO ... you'd only really go the 150 wide if you are a big guy looking for a lite wind board or riding in smallish surf ...
If you want heaps more info about all of 'em, just do a search on that 'other forum'...

The 150 x 34 is an awesome high wind board for me (83kg). You can hold a lot of power, smoke upwind, and most of all the foot pressure is much more even than on other boards, so even though you ride faster than anyone for a couple of hours you don't get tired easily.
All Makos carve great, eliminate chop and have no spray whatsoever.
For freeriding, the Mako Wide might be the better allround board.
On the skinny Mako you can dig the rail deeper and hold more power, jump better and the footbalance is a bit more even than on the Wide.
