Oh **** Release? Designed to flag kite out to one back line and kill all power. attach leash to OSR, especially when newbish, then if situation requires release chicken loop and bar will fly off up line, totally flagging kite out and killing all power.

so what's with the hand sized red and black loops then.If I'm going to attach my leash(which nobody ever would) then I'd just use the metal ring, but we're provided with large loops about the size of your hand which nobody has ever been able to explain - including shop guys!!!

Perhaps the HAND sized loops are there for your HANDS to grab hold of, thus aiding you in your attempt to attach your leash to those small metal rings.

you're kidding.Beware of your plans .IMO on many kites Oh **** is what you will be saying if you have released to your backlines (otherwise known as OSR) as the kite propellars you down the beach

I call them relaunch handles in lessons... You crash the kite, stand up - hold a relaunch handle untill your Rally is in the air, then let go (When the handle resets and velcro's itself back onto the line - Magic

You're probly trolling but I'll bite anyway...

On many kites the normal non-suicide leash attachment is on one front line. If that front line snaps and your kite goes into a death loop toward the nearest rocky groin, recommended procedure is to shout 'Oh SH!@!" at the top of your voice, grab a one of those hand sized OSH and deploy your safety.

Also used to be used for kiters running suicide leashes attached to the chicken loop in the older days. Generally if they got in trouble (like a tangle with a newbie or a tree if they were a cabrinha rider), they were on suicide so pulling the QR would do nothing, the idea was to grab the OSR and pull the safety.

Actually I agree 100%. Fly them into a tree and voila, 100% depower
