nice site....those clouds are amazing, I've never seen anything like it in all the years I was studying and working as a meteorologist.....very very cool!
yeh i read fark from time to time. i worked out who you were the other day dave - youve ridden wello a couple of times on your 18 naish right? red board? when you heading down our way again?
Yeah it's a good timewaster but sometimes it's a bit yank oriented but it's good value..
Well I'm not sure if I'm me or not, I fly mainly a blue x2 18 but have a black board with a white bottom. (the board!) Only went out a few times at Wello last season (I hate saying that.. grrr... roll on spring!) mainly braved the jellys at brighton.
I'm working on contract at the Lytton caltex refinery now, so no more mid week kiting, but if my contract is extended and I'm still there through spring (hopefully) then I'll be able to knock off early once or twice a week if the wind's on and duck across to Wello.
I've gone into gear fixing mode now, sewing the 14 up and putting 3 more patches on the x2 (it's more sail tape than kite now) and fighting with a strut bladder that has about 6 leaks. It keeps me distracted from how much winter sucks!
