Friends of the great wave up here at Gero,
It's time to voice your opposition, if you so believe that is...
Many have fought up here for over 15 years, winning once by public opposition and revealing the truth when it was Kingstream and the 'shares affairs'. Surprisingly enough the honorable minister for mines back then was none other than Colin Barnett. We now seek global support to continue to oppose a deep water port at Oakajee.
Now the true underlying reasons for fighting are being made public by OPR (Oakajee Port and Rail) - Uranium.
If you have kited Coronation Beach, South Coronation Beach, Fence lines, tractors, Oakabella or any of the other un-named breaks in the area around the proposed "exclusion zone', it's important to realize the implications of a Uranium capable port in this area.
Firstly, A country willing to sell Uranium will be made accountable in the future and could be obligated to take the waste.
I don't know about you but I'm over this whole 'Uranium' is the answer rubbish - we just need to consume less, recycle more and switch off the bloody dunny light and ride a bike a bit more often!.
If there is going to be a generation beyond mine, I have a responsibility to that generation by leaving them a planet that isn't completely toxic because of our incessant gluttony for energy and flippant wastage of resources.
No Port at Oakajee

Agree 100% Gav........no Port there, end discussion, we will still have the stuff in the ground years from now...........why rape and pillage in our generation alone...........because it is all about the kn $ and the people here are short term thinkers......................read this Collin and the rest of you dig it out now crowd. Yea, also put on your scuba gear and go hunt some fish....get them before some one else takes them.
But apparently our politicians and mining speculators love crawling up the chinaman's butt hole.

If people are interested......
Maybe a separate category can be set up with a "how to voice your opposition" section.
I am in the process of developing a resource for public process so that people can submit opposition letters formally. Parliamentarians, local members, offices of Govt., editorials of papers etc.
It really is time for as many people as possible that are against Uranium to get active with a few minutes of their time. I will do as much as I can to assist in providing the avenue for you to do this.
It might help pass the time until the wind blows for some of you.

Can you cite a source for the uranium thing?
When it was initially opposed by geraldton Windsurfing Club and WWA the argument was basicall if they did up the reefs at Spot X then they should build an artificial reef to replace it. They agreed to do so.
However they said Coro would be unaffected a sit is a few km north
NOW if they are going to do uranium we need to step up our opposition a hundredfold as there will be an exclusion zone that will ruin Coronation and other spots also
