My faithful travelling companion of the last few years decided to give up on me last Saturday, in of all places the Swan river.
Since October 2002 you have been a faithful servant used and abused.
those frequent flyer miles are all wasted now.
you have accompanied me to Oahu, Maui, NZ, Fiji, Townsville, Gold Coast, lennox heads, Ballana, port Stephens, Botany bay, Lakes entrance, Sandy point, Inverloch, Cowes, Rye, Frankston, Beumauris, Elwood, Pt Ormond, St kilda, Altona, Pt Henry, St lenards, 13th beach, Breamlea, Pt danger, Anglesea, Apollo bay, Warrnambool, Adelaide, Cairn Curran, Eppalock, Greens lake, Waranga basin, Lake Boga, Boort lake, and lastly Pt walter in Perth.
Finally the Sun and those mongrel UV rays got to you.
Will I ever learn to trust another as I have trusted you, will any other replace the feeling of comfort and preditictability you give me
03 Airblast10 RIP

Oh the Airblast. One of the finest kites ever made. The grace, the lift, the speed. I'll be wearing a black springy next time I go out - a sign of respect to the passing of a true hero. RIP (Rip In Pieces)

Azza,
the kite necrophiliac.
The UV has turned the ripstop to similiar ripstopping ability of toilet paper.
the least affected areas are still untearable, A4 copier paper is stronger than the rest.
My dilema is, do I open up one of the brand new 03 airblast10's I have or follow the fashion trail.
The body will lay in state at Azzas still it is donated to science.

Yeah the airblast was a good kite in its time. Wait till you try an 06 kite, then you won't think they were the greatest thing ever.
They have an overhyped cult status.

Hi Ral Inn,
Sory for your loss.
I'm an ABK - 2002 8.4.
She's as sexy as a blond, sophisticated as a brunette and as fiery and a red head. One day she'll pass to the great wind god but until then, come Bows, C's or the next "French pat. pend." we'll cruise the sunset together...

Well said Brother Alan (ABK).
The definition of perfect kiting wind is "airblast8.4 weather"
A quote from Cory Adcook, IKO examiner 2000, at our course in Melbourne, 2 mins latter the first Airblast10 was shown to Aussie sunlight.
the first kite in the 14m range. a true revolution.
