ONTO IT YOU RECKON ? from what I personally saw, it was 2 days after the leak before EPA and council sorted out there sh!t , oil was already here on the beaches , in the estuaries , all over the rocks at Coolum and elsewhere ,( no discredit to the cleanup crew , just the beurocracy )and to add insult to injury ,oil had also leaked out of the culprit ship in the Bris River way after the whole incident took place, while the ship was being detained! HA! Poorly Handled in my opinion. As for the storms and the coastline that is just nature being nature , but who knows if there is any long term damage from the oil spill .
sadly to say their is still many tarnished rocks at Point Cartwright, but all in all, **** they had solid go.Scrubbed them and put in a bunch of man hours, albeit goverment guys sent up from brisbane who maybe do not care as much as the loca l folk do so much......It's just so sad cause we all know it's only a matter of time before hell comes to your coastline.Fingers crossed, would not bless it on anyone who enjoys the outdoors.KEEP OUR BEACH'S CLEAN MY BROTHERS!
have recently seen guys on the northern tip of Bribie still searching for every last twig or shell showing any sign of the goop. Its really pristine over there because lack of acsess and they seem to have been really thorough
Hey Greenie, are there rats in the canals in QLD? I hear they are yummy and a good change from crab I love crab, but hungry enough and rat tastes sweet too.
I wish the greenies...haha greenie, would consider that we humans ARE nature too...
too funny gruezi! my all time fave is beer battered rat on a stick (gutted first of course, but with fur and legs) crunchy too! easy to club with my old poleboarder mast extension. sorry no fotos.
Government was actually on the ball and cleaned it up pretty quick.
BAH! Far from it! The way it was handled was an absolute joke, i know many people in the industry who put their hands up to help...im talking ecologists and the like, the day it happend, the government turned them all down and said nope as it is now a natural distaster your not allowed to help. After 2 or 3 days they finaly got their ass into gear and did something, bit late as the oil ran into rivers before anything was able to be done. not to mention the cover up of how much oil was realy lost.
