I have two 2008 hadlow pro's, a 9 and an 11. The old school style without bridals. I bought them to do a bit of wake style and to sharpen up my board skills a bit. You have to edge against them to put them in their place if it gets crazy, at least the 9 anyway.

The funny thing is, the 9 is insane with it's power while the 11 is just so nice in it's delivery. What's up with that? I always thought the bigger the kite, the more power, with the same kite of coarse.

I was out in 20 kts today with the 9, it was LOUD, came in after a bit to chill out, wind backed off to 15, got the 11 out, went riding, wind came back on to about 22 kts and it was so nice.

Any thoughts?????? Maybe something to do with apparent wind or something, it was the same bar and lines I was using too. The 9 is certaintly quicker then the 11 through the window.

Hmm.

Generally for the same kite and the same year the larger kite should be slower to depower, turn and get out of the power quicker.

Have you go the kites hooked up the same? Are there multiple front pigtails attachment points?

Yeah they're hooked up the same.

The only thing I could think of was the 9 fly's faster then the 11 and seems to drift back in the window then race forward to the edge when it gets gusty and the power pulses a bit. For some reason the 11 seems to just sit nicely on the edge of the window with a more consistant power. Bridal for fifth line on the 9 might be stretch or something.....

hmm could be the bridle or could be you are choking the 9m with too much bar pressure causing it to slide back in the window.

Try flying the 9m with the knot knot setting one more towards depowered and see if that makes a difference.

Try playing with the 5th line length. Does the 5th have the same tension on both kites?

It does seem to, not sure. I just usually hook up the two rear and centre lines with full power to get the most out of it. I think the idea of taking some power out of the 9 (taking it all a knot back) will help because I may be over choking it, it drifts back, then letting the bar out which in turn causes it to perform eratically.
I pull the bar in when I ride a lot and it may make it a bit easier going.

Can't try yet though, been no wind around.... Might get some northerly's through on Fri.....Thanks for the help guys I'll give it a go
