If kite companies where to take of the single point inflation I'd be happier takes a bit of weight of the canopy (not much but every little bit counts) and a potential weak spot. Takes me no less time to pump up a 08 rebel 12m than it does a 08 Cab switchy 12m.

I was referring to this. Maybe the way you wrote it but it sounds like the whole kite goes flat which is incorrect. Only the leading edge goes flat.

I meant that the whole kite will fall down from the sky while you can still go with the other kites

There is one thing that I do think the Naish system adds to the kite though. That's a certain amount of shock absorbtion during a powered crash into the water the LE is able to relieve some of the added pressure from the impact into the strut bladders rather than burting the LE seams and creating a blowout. Maybe this isn't so much of a problem these days and build techniques have improved. I do know that it happened a bit more in years gone by.

Just a thought,

There have been some less than perfect inflation systems. My favourite was the 07 north range...... 6-10m of heavy tubing and whoops the "T" pieces actually need to be UV stabilized. Wave kites IMO should have multi-point as every gram counts for drifting and not falling out of the sky, if it works and it is trouble free, who cares...........It takes longer to unwind ****ty lines

being a torch(naish) rider since they first came out what exacty is the problem with the occtopus inflation system ? i haven`t seen any failures of this system in any of my kites for five years or any on the beach. i have how ever seen lots of normal valve failures but that hasn`t been only on naish and not restricted to one pumps

well for a start its a pain in the arse when you are glueing your strut deflate vavles on, and I guess they started to leak becase after glueing back on every valve on the kite (eventually)I had induced a leak somwhere. Or maybee it was just the valves. Never did find it - Just got sick of looking, reapplying plumbers tape etc. And the fact that they were octopus bladders made them too expensive to replace. And it doesn't happen to all kites. I have never had a cab leak and I owned one for twice as long as my naish. (off topic)
