Hi Dazed321,
I don't know what you are up to because I have no problem with Ozones in the waves (any model).
What I don't understand is why or how you are wave riding on a 13m kite? If the wind is so light that you need a 13m Sport to get going on a surfboard, then it it too light to ride down the line in any case.
The moment you turn down the line on a big kite, your lines will go slack and you definately will have a steering issue, in fact you'll have a "keeping the kite in the air issue".
You need a small kite to ride surf unless it is 'cross off', in which case you won't be unhooking or you'll be pulled out the back of the wave.
If you seriously want to unhook and make the kite turn faster and less prone to stalling in down the line wave riding, I suggest you lengthen out the line adjusters on the back lines and attach the front 5th line position to the knot closest to the kite. This will accomplish what you want, but you still won't be able to ride down the line unhooked, too little wind speed to be sustainable. Wait for 20+ knots and ride your 9m, or better yet, get a Light II 7m.
You need a minimum of 20 knots to effectively be riding downwind down the line in the waves. If you are holding onto a 13m in 20 knots, you'll have bigger problems that lack of turning.
Good luck, I hope this helps,
