Not sure how they do it at the factory, but fairly sure its done with a machine.
The chicken loop is not designed to have the inner amsteel line replaced, you are meant to just buy a new one?
Which year model kite is this for?

i've replaced the depower ropes before on the ozone manta's. Same cl but no pu rubber.

Just tie/tape some thin string to it and pull the new rope through.

Tried most of my conduit skills being a sparky, might have to thin down the rope and try again.

Its a 2012 bar but had heavy wear from the cleat. chicken loops fine just wanted to replace the rope.

Replaced my 2011 to add a custom de-power for racing, I used whipping twine to mouse it, and also the trick that worked for me was to heat the plastic tube, either hot water or a heat gun. Makes it a lot easier to work with.

Ok I just needed to have a closer look at the 2011/2012 bar. The 2012 bar has a single length of amsteel and the easiest way would be to splice some new line into the old one.
The very end of the line is the only part that wears in the cleat, so there will be plenty of line left to do a splice in.

Second easiest option if the bar is a 2011 is to buy an upper trim line, for $9

Third but hardest is to feed a new piece of amsteel all the way through, by whipping the end tight and heating the tube, as well as spraying the line with silicone.

I had some Amstel 6mm line and cut half the strands out over 100mm so it was nice and tapered. Used 40kg fishing braid as whipping, a few half hitches and easy as. Had 6mm nylon tube from a pneumatic supplier, total cost about $15.

Glad I replaced it though as I also found the SS y piece was cracked 3-4 through during line re- fit.

My magnet for holding depower is rusting and doubling in size tearing neoprene. Anyone else just pulled it out or replaced it?
