Marg's, Lanclin, Gero, gnarloo, scarbs, Mullaloo

Depends how much travelling U want to do really. There are heaps of options if U have access to vehicle and plenty of money accomodation is pretty rich in the more remote areas these days.

We also only have about a month of the season left if lucky so you would want to be coming over very soon.

Good luck hope that helps somewhat.

if you are learning stay away from the flagged areas or wherever people are swimming.
find a place where the beach is empty.
also watch as some areas WAKSA or AKSA membership is required with insurance.

Within 4hrs you have:

from 3.5 hrs to the the South
1. Margs [Margaret River surfers point]
-cross or cross off sea breeze
excellent big waves
sometimes sketchy launch and return if cross off so discuss access with experienced local first
usually crowded with hardcore crew of local and international major windsurfing talent
A few kiters but you should be good and falling off a lot unstrapped and obstructing the tight wave zone with your lines wont make you any friends, trust me

2. Mandurah -excellent cross -cross off point when swell hits 2m plus
crowded at times

3. Beachies everywhere but Scarborough is most reliable for waves in Metro area in summer due to lack of swell and bank elesewhere but typically only shoulder -head high waves in summer

4. Lancelin 1.5hrs North
-reef breaks 600m offshore so dont lose your unstrapped board or down your kite
big waves often
a little cross onshore
lots of visiting European Windsurfers who havent a notion what they are doing but yell at kiters anyway, including an incredibly imbecilic german who runs a poler rental and school and tries to run down kiters on 'his' ocean [beware of a guy in underfilled budgie smugglers with a mo who hasn't yet found out that you are supposed to turn when wave riding]

5. North from Lano to Wedge Island
-miles and miles of excellent sideshore beachies
-kiting heaven
-competely deserted
-real 4wd drive only and no access when AAF are bombing

6 Mid coast North to Dongara [about 4hrs] heaps of wind blown reefs and beaches
For waves try Hangover Bay [nr Crevantes] and Green Head.
Small kites
both need swell to be 1.5m plus

Thats about the best of it
Have fun
