The KPWT has a lot more Euro Riders, still visits a few world stops as well as Europe. No age restrictions as such, hence why Gisela Pulido Borrell has won the KPWT Ladies Freestyle Titles so many times as well as a few PKRA (she has more titles than Arron Hadlow.) The KPWT also has different judging and scores all styles of riding. Also they have, wave, freestyle, race, big air and best trick.

The PKRA is different in some way but the same in others.

PKRA www.pkra.info

KPWT www.kiteboardpro.com

I'm sure this will answer more questions.

KPWT knows they are danglers, PKRA are danglers in denial. That being said i would rather support PKRA than KPWT at least they are trying.
Some of the politics involved lately with a certain World Sailing Federation? (think thats it lol) are pretty lame. KPWT are stealing event sites and sponsors that the PKRA used to have because they are sanctioned by the WSF.... Dog act.
At least the PKRA are slowly making the sport and world tour more legit. KPWT through media representation of their events is taking the sport backwards in leaps and bounds.

F#ck the KPWT.
F#ck the WSF.

KPWT & PKRA have now both signed on to the new ISF (or WSF) program.
Most comment seems to favour this move as a huge leap forward for kiting - at least potentially.
Time will tell

Ho Hum - IMO nothing will ever outclass kiting as personal experience sport
Just you and your kite ....
power on into a setting sun ....
on an isolated beach somewhere ....
somewhere far away from the real world ....
where time stands still ....
- like Perth.

They only signed with ISF after they were bullied and threatened with legal action if they did not.

ISF are scum.

I'm not a fan of the way the ISAF have delt with things. However if the ISAF get kiting into the olympics then that can only be a good thing. I do feel that it was the introduction of racing into the PKRA and KPWT that made the ISAF look at kiting so strongly.

Who the F3ck cares about the olympics..... don't try and make it sound like the ISAF (or whatever it is haha) are doing anyone a favour, because they are not.

If kiting did get into the Olympics, it would only be course racing, and then the sailing rules actually become useful.

Kiting would suffer the same fate as Windsurfing where the Olympic sport is FAR removed from the real sport... Stuff olympics for kiting

I'd never heard of the KPWT until 6 months ago...

Besides - how many of the most influential riders actually bother with the tours? All I can think of is Hadlow... The others like Dre, Len10 etc don't care for comp riding

If you look at all the top names, most have competed at some stage in their sporting life as it is a way to get recognised. Don't think that if you don't compete you are gonna get too much exposure in the beginning.

But once you have done your stint it seems it is not for everyone and some are good enough to continue on a freestyle basis. Others must love the competing.

Lou Wainman, Martin Vari, Lenten, Dre and Ben wilson all competed at some stage or another.

Dre funny enough used to do some of the sickest board offs back in the day.
