Yeah I can atest to the Five hours on the water today... Jesus H christ what a session, just like Tuesdays... Lets see if I can make it 3 in a row... Had an absolute blast this morning with Wayne, Carl, Luke and the rest of the boys out...

Vert I take my hat off to you today as you gallantly went to chrissys help with a downed kite...and it cost you !

If any of you newbies to Pt Walter havent figured it out by now, the Southern Side of Pt Walter is NO place for riders that cannot stay upwind or learners...

Stick to the Northern side as its shallower for a longer distance out than the Southern side...

I may come across as a bit harsh in this post but I know too well the costs of dropping a kite on the south side and swimming upwind !

I recon Pt Walter is one of the best places to kite in Perth, but it is also the most trickyest...

If you've never ridden there before, please for your own sake and others, ask others what its like and where to ride...

Chrissy you were just unlucky today thats all...

Vert what can one say - really
It was a noble act of heroic proportion; a gracious gesture which is eclipsed only by the deep respect you earnt today from the many fellow kiters who witnessed, in awe, your singularly selfless sacrifice

At least Im sure thats how they all felt after they finished larfing - b''stards

Vert– A big thankyou for coming to my boards rescue, I really appreciate your help and I’m so sorry that you ended up on the other side. I feel really terrible about it. Once I came in, I drove to the other side to find you, another kiter and my board. I couldn’t find anyone or my board Glad you made it back OK.

Good advice Hung Long! It was one of those freaky things where I dipped my kite to low, it hit the water and next thing I know the kite is floating. I was very lucky that I didn’t have to swim back in! Looks like it’s the Northern side for me..

never read so much bull****
epic sessions
viewed from the other side of the river was epic kites lying on the sand with not a hint of a whitecap anywhere or a kite in the sky
last evening one lonely soul walking his rhino back, board in hand

perhaps the forum writers have something else in their hand

Hey Wayne, we haven't met but both Chrissy and I went looking for you -- I went down The Coomb off Saunders and you were already gone - very quick smart which is great. The other guy too who came in near Chidley Pt. golf course must have managed to get a quick pick up.

Chrissy managed fine getting in back to the Pt.Walter spit herself (self resciued well) but her funky board is not rescued yet - despite verts initiative to try to pick it up - so it is sailing somewhere along the river or some bank somewhere...or on a boat somewhere..or already in someone's hands.

So, if people can keep their eyes peeled as they travel around the river (or their ears if they hear about a found board)- let her know directly or put a note on the forum.

Damo mentioned one of the traps at Pt.Walter - a 4 knot or so downstream current- becomes very evident when the wind drops near 10 knots or less on the south side. The net effect is an apparent wind of only 5-6 knots and the kite drops and is very difficult (if not impossible) to relaunch.

At my stage of the game I'm comfortable on the north side.

I know the chances are very slim...Here I am at Palm Cove Queensland -- ready for my first kite for weeks .....in fact since 1 June @ Pt Walter. I get the kite all pumped up and go for my lines...not there.......mmmmnnppphhh. If you check www.seabreeze.com under Qld and double island point you get the breezes for up here. Not strong but something. Anyway I was all pumped up and no way to go. I have to keep a sense of humour about this.

If anyone saw a 5 line RRD bar (or picked it up) let me know.
Cheers
