In memory of a great man who lived his life to the full.
A year ago, Perth lost a much loved member of it's kitesurfing community. In a tragic helicopter accident while on a relief mission, helping those affected by earthquakes in Nias, Indonesia. Paul's life was cut short. We are inviting people to come and have a bbq at brighton beach on Sunday, April 2nd. And share in remembering what a great person paul was, and how he made everyone smile.
If the wind co-operates we can pile into a couple of cars and do one of pauls favourite downwinders Floreat to Scarborough.
I taught Paul here in Newcastle and kited with him heaps when he was here and he was a good mate and we were all devastated when Paul left us. Pauls original board actually came back to us as a trade in after its 3rd owner and I have kept it hoping to either organise or give it up for an event in his honour . I would love for youy guys to have it as the trophy (and a good excuse to come over to WA each year for the event ) .
For those who are keen on coming down for a bbq before the downwinder. We plan on going down at around 1. Remembering Paul and sharing stories with any or all who come down, and then looking at going out for a kite later in the afternoon.
