lucky bastards!. I wish they would reopen the cable park in sydney.

Edit
Whoops my bad, I must not be able to read, I skimmed over this thread and for some reason read PERTH instead of Penrith.
That is awesome news, I used to ride at Penrith cable park several times a week untill it shut down in 02. Great fun when theres no wind about. I didn't kite when I used to ride there, but now I think practicing at the cable park can only be good for wakestyle progression.

Logan, exit 30.
take exit, go straight through round about and about 3 or 4 sets of lights, road turns into a smaller narrower country style road, go a km or 2 along it and there will be a small brown sign (council type, not homemade) it will say cable park on your right in a couple of hundred meters. turn right, follow the dirt road for a little way. your there.

p.s. you cant see it from road.

Bloody fantastic. Can't wait. I live in Blacktown, so will be ideal when no wind. I started wakeboarding at the park 9 months before it closed down. - Bring it on.

“The whole ski arena has changed. Water skiing has changed, updated, upgraded, modernised and blown everyone away with all the new technology and equipment. Wake boarding has really taken off as well.”

Do people even ski anymore at cable parks?
Sick news tho!

^^ Haahaha, where did you get that info? Skiing at the cable is long gone.
Not to mention cables hardly even go fast enough for that anymore.

“With $30 million spent on our renovations, this new ski park will add to what we can offer both the local community and also the tourist market,” said Panthers CEO Glenn Matthews.

30 mil hey so there's a wave pool and continuous wave for the short like skim boards?

30 mil is massive amount could they really spend that much just re-opening

I hope they have at least one of the lakes operating in a clockwise direction for us natural stance biased riders. Both lakes used to run anti clockwise which is much better for goofy stance biased riders.

No i don't think they would have spent 30Mill sounds a bit blown out. Maybe something like 3Mill.

I heard there's going to be one brand new cable and lake and 2 sesitec 2.0 sytems.

i wouldn't bother with logan if you have the option to ride bli bli.
better to drive the extra couple of hours to the sunny coast for a day trip.
i live 3.5 hours from bli bli and 1 hour from logan and i never ride at logan

Would kiteboards be better at Cable than wakeboards?. Im not sure about the durability of kiteboards to take kickers and sliders but for loading the cable and poping i figure the flex of a kiteboard would be more suited. Can anyone who has used both on a cable please clarify?. cheers

If kiteboards were better for cable i'm pretty sure you would know about it already.
They are pretty crappy at cable generally because of the following;
1. to much flex, board flexes out and feels sh!t.
2. not enough rocker, you trip your edges and land with way to much speed flying past the corner and into the operator tower after a ralley, looking like another kite kook.
3. usually of worse quality and dont hold up on obstacles.
4. they have straps.
5. they usually have stupidly big fins.

There are heaps of other reasons to just hire or buy a wakeboard, but I guess you can work it out for yourself.

The lake control system is just a new computer to help make the cable run smoother and better.
