I was talking to Karl (Ox) the other day about the idea of getting some kitesurfing footage together. He is the one that shot and released the DVD on the Perth extreme games – did a damn fine job to.
He has offered to shoot some footage, and put a DVD together – but knowing how much effort goes into getting this together for just one person, I’m thinking about getting a crew together to make it a bigger group project.
So here is my plan.
Get 4 – 6 like minded, great spirited local kite surfers together who are happy to catch up at random kitesurfing destinations around WA over the next 6 – 12 months.
Karl would act as the director, scoping out the best conditions at the best spots. He would then text us the time and place eg 3 pm at Woodies, 12 noon at Lancelin, 2pm at Avalon or 4pm at Scarborough etc.
Not all of us could make it to every session but as long as at least 2 could be there it would be worth while. Over the duration of the project Karl would get enough footage of everyone to cut a happening DVD. I thought we could use Snoop Dog’s remix of “Riders of the Storm” as out theme song, as the footage is going to be taken over winter.
Karl is a student, so if we where all to put $200 each towards his costs, I’m sure he would appreciate it. I originally offered to pay this sum.
Post here if you are interested, have any suggestions or have a plane to fly us around the state to help us be onto the very best of conditions.
