I'm coming over for a fortnight mid april to see family (that's the ruse anyway), wondering if the seabreeze will still be working and whether to bring 11m, 13.5m or both?

Will be staying in Marmion near the beach - what's the nearest kite spot?

At Marg's is the boat ramp near Gnarabup the spot where most people go out?

thanks

thanks Toby, but from what I saw at Margs when I was there last summer, it seemed the SW would be onshore at the river mouth?

I saw some people kiting the left at main break and having a ball, but I don't think my wave skills are going to be at that level by the time I get there. I'd heard rumour that the boatramp has the wind crosshore and it not quite as difficult as surfers point.

Any locals got some tips?

Go to the boat ramp carpark then walk North along the beach to the to get into some clear air .
Flat water on the inside and waves on the outside reef . Great setup , better than mainbreak on some days .
Leave mainbreak alone until you are familiar with the local conditions and protocall.
Never tried the rivermouth .
Mid april might be a bit late but I have been told there are still some breezes coming through around then .
Good luck and please if you do tackle mainbreak , the local protocall (tribal law) is that surfers only until 1pm then windsurfers and kites can go out in the arvo .

Andy,

Mid April the "Doctor" has pretty much packed it in for the season.

Best bet is to say "Hi!" to the family and promptly head north.

Hey Neoniphon,

Forget about riding Margs, the sea breezes will be long gone by then, especially that far south. I'd visit the relos and then scram off to Gero for some powered sessions in the waves. You should get some great sessions up in Gero at that time of year.

Go north young man, go north!

Thanks fellas,

I had a feeling the wind situation might be waning by then. I'll just bring the wettie and pinch a board off the outlaws at Margies and go surfing instead! Had some nice waves at main break and Ellensbrook last summer.
