Me and a few mates did a bit of a reccy down south on the weekend and boy was it worth it. We explored the coast about xhrs south and found heaps of good set ups with really nice beach breaks with proper surf. The were a few locals kiting and they were all super friendly so if you are all freaking about the crowds in perth go for a drive.

We are also going to talk to Waksa to put on a WAVE event for the start of next season let us know if you wave guys would support an event down there and we'll get happening.

thanks Nev
Heading down there again on Sunday with some more crew
ps just removed the distance from perth to keep the locals happy

locals may not be so friendly next time.

but....thanks for the heads up!

Me and all the scarbs crew will head down for sure! Ive also got a bus and perhaps I can start a downwinder service down to there, it sure will help the metro congestion!

thanks again.

Calm down everyone - the post was just to say that if you travel a bit you find great uncrowded places
We found several spots that had no one on the beach and no kiters as well.
I have not named any spots on purpose in the post so don't presume we will kiting at YOUR break.
There is no locations or directions given by me except that I said it was south.
Some of you need to chill.

Beaches should be restricted to kiters with proof of residence.
If it's not your postcode you shouldn't be there

I have kited this place in last 7 years, and as far as I know was the first to kite it or indeed kite it regularly. There are generally 5 other local kiters who regularly use the spot.

lol. ^^^
Sorry eppo ...
but I was the first kiter to ride waves at this spot.
And before kites came on the scene ...I was the first to windsurf it.

Alas - Eppo and Monkel I don't think anyone actually was really sure where it was until you two chipped in with specifics. Your user profiles details don't help much either huh - nice work chaps

There will be issues with the surf club, surfers, and beach walkers. It's a narrow width of surfing area and always straight with a bad ending if your gear fails. Not just for your kite but the surfers there too.

You my friend are just a frother....

Crowds really suck, what else can be said ... Learn with your mates face to face not on then lotsa friends Internet

As for surf comps... I'm not a big fan maybe you could have it at trigg... That's a surfing reserve ay?

hey eppo you have a lot to say most of it ok(my opinion), but you sound like a real tool with your aggresive tone, "come to my spot and brother with beat u up"

Grow up and tell your brother to grow up, you dont do this sport and/or its reputation any good with those kind of insinuations.

Its not "your" local, maybe i will see you down there one day, take it easy

Doesn't really matter coz once you give it a try once and lose a fin on a rock you realize it's crap and should just drive to margs for a real surf!!!

It really doesn't matter...the reason there is only 5 or so regulars is that the place sux, it's just convenient if you live nearby and don't want to drive tothe other spots crew use. there are a ****load of kiters in the area and most go else where.
I bet mr nasty (if not a troll) owns a go pro too

I have decided Gibbo has a point, my tone was too aggressive and this doesn't serve any purpose. So here goes, going to start again...

Mr Nasty: The ocean is free and if you wish to drive all the way down here and bring ya mates down for a kite in cross-shore straight slop this is your perogative.

Please remember it is a small area, with an extrenely dangerous groin, that we share with swimmers and a life saving club. The critical mass numbers wouldn't be very high.

I also explore many areas up and down the coast, from exmouth down to denmark, even albany but i would never post a distance, direction or driving time. This was naive. Word of mouth is fine and you will be most welcome if you do the right thing, but broadcasting across the net is a stupid as putting your party on facebook. I hope you realise the error of your ways.

We understand that crowds in metro are getting fierce and it is only a matter of time before the numbers increase in such places.

I have spoken to the Clubs president (a friend of mine) and he will let me know the good and the bad. If you do kite here and the 'bad' occurs there may be someone who gives some frank advice on the necessary standards.

Hope to see you down here some time Mr nasty, so we can have a good old laugh about this one! Apologise for the aggressive tone before, but my edicts still stand.

Cheers

Why is a post like this even necessary if people aren't prepared to think a bit and use the millions of resources freely available to work it out for themselves then.....

Word gets out on it's own without any additional promoting, and that doesn't necessarily require naming places, distances etc.

Quick! everyone use google earth to locate the groin and post it up on this thread and as many other threads that have nothing to do with it.
