Article in the West Aus today.
Simon and Ben Hurrey are behind it, anyone know them, any more to this ?

In for planning approval at City of Rocko, open for public comment, get on and support it by december 3, hope it happens, good luck lads.

Proposed site just of the freeway, about as good a site as we can hope for ;

i hope one lake is reserved for kiteboarders who just want to carve, who never go near obstacles or take any risks, who don't give the other 30 riders in the queue any thought, and who come away from a day of going round the lake doing nothing and proclaim how easy and boring cable is....

(sorry for the rant but kiteboarders have ruined my cable session on more than one occasion0

Excuse my ignorance but why does someone else's lesser riding effect you?

Is there a rule at your cable ski park that says “you are not allowed to use a kicker, slider or load up at the corner if someone else is mowing the lawn”?

Edit: Ok maybe they don't fall off cos they never try anything and consequently slow other people's session...

Stamp has a valid point his sessions were ruined who are you to say they were not. Offer a counter-assertion perhaps, but no you'd rather just have a crack. Grow up.

So what is the issue Stamp, is it kiters just going round and round ?

A cable in the UK i used go to had maximum of 3 laps and then they would cut u off anyway(normally had stacked it by then anyway, being a risk taking kiter, ha, or is that a crap kiter, not sure)

What would you be prepared to pay for hour, whats the going rate at others over east ?

How kiters mostly wreck cable 1o1:

1. They ride endless laps -
Never trying a thing just content with moving around and around while others are waiting in line. People can be waiting half an hour to have a crack at one obstacle and possibly fall straight off while these kooks just continue forever in circles.

2. Carving back and forth -
Once they are past the point of being content doing straight laps they decide to try and "send heaps of spray" at any opportunity they get. Carving back and forward as hard as they can on their flat little boards pulling the cable back and forth and making it nearly impossible for anyone else riding to do anything... They usually also fail to send a decent spray.

3. Killing the cable -
Once they are content with sending spray at every opportunity, they use the other times when not sending spray to stop the cable. They do this by trying a ****ty little gayley, not really getting off the water, holding on till shear death (like they do kiting) and then pinging the rope up into the gears and cables... This usually takes between 30mins and a day to fix depending on how well they f#ck it.

Rowdy that is alot of crap, sorry. I used to teach skiing at cables here in the early 90s before kites and wake boards. As water skiiers thats what we would do and generally in an hour session everyone would get a fair go at slower speeds. On the faster sessions there were fewer people and you could stay on for as long as you wanted.
I trick ski and still do, shall I not go for a session because kiters are there? Like f@ck I wouldnt!!
Cable skiing is for everyone not just kiters, pull ya head out of your.....

Sorry "Doggie" but it isn't... Obviously you haven't been to cable in a while (since the 00's), or while kiters are there.

And for the record I didn't say this is what all kiters do, I was just pointing out "how lesser riders probably effect Stamp" as that is what the guy was asking.

Nothing but the facts there buddy, pull ya own head out...

My last cable session was in 04 just before our cable park was closed.

No, it is the fact didn't counter Stamp's assertion with any kind of opinion, you just said "toughen up princess"
I often disagree with Stamp but never felt the need to have a crack at him/her

Nor did you offer a contrary opinion to mine in that 100mil thread, you just called me a d!ck (after heavily editing my post to quote it)

Sorry dude, 2 posts in 12hrs have been personal attack with no substance so if the shoe fits you may have to wear it.

What ever you reckon chuckles.

Didn't call you a dick, just said it was a dick thing to say.
You made a couple of comments, I pointed out your particular comment showing a lack of imagination, then later expanded on it.
"heavily edited" geez, get a grip; are there some rules I should be following?
I didn't twist anything you said, as you seem to be trying to do about my comments.

And FYI- I did offer a contrary opinion to you, you said it was too much, I said it wasn't and that you lack imagination for saying it.

Stamp didn't have a cry at me for making my comment here, he probably thinks I'm a dick, who cares?

But to expand on that, harden up, everyone gets to use public facilities, get used to it, you can't lock people out just cause you're better at something than them, or feel you're more deserving for priority of access.
If the park isn't running efficiently so everyone gets a fair crack, then it's the park management, not the people with lesser ability than those who proclaim greatness.

Sit back and chill out, grab a cup of water and a small bag of cement...

yep, i was having a whinge. i don't think that anyone should be excluded from riding, i'm just a cable kook myself. but i get frustrated when people seem to have no thought for others who are riding at the same time, and the inconsiderate ones often turn out to be kiters. rowdy summed it up pretty well.

someone mentioned three lakes. my post was wishful thinking that a park could run a separate lake for those who don't want to hit obstacles or load up on the corners- everyone would be happy. the crowds would thin out and a cable session would involve more than just waiting in line for old mate to fall off his shinn monk...
