This is like a Pat vs. Liz topic! [}:)]

As Pat said, unless you work on the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast, if will be close to flat-water kiting all the time.
Depending where you would live and kite in Brisbane, depends on the consistency of the wind.
I have found that on a predicted 20 knot day, Redcliffe-Brighton will have more strong wind than Wellington Point, as Wello has a lot of small (and large) islands in the way that acts as a wind shadow along the way; Redcliffe-Brighton isn't as protected.
I've heard that W.A water is much much more clear than Brisbane; but once again I have not been there.
Gold Coast is great because you can choose between so many kiting locations, as well as flat (KFC) and surf conditions depending on your kiting mood on the day.
I hope you aren't choosing to move from Perth to Brisbane for our 'kiting conditions'!

lol... You might be disappointed!
The number of 18-25 knot NEly's we had last summer could nearly make me cry... (like your SWly).. Summer isn't what it used to be... It's SE-Ely all the way...
