Hi All

We will be in Perth this weekend and are hoping to get a couple of days kitsurfing in but are wondering do we need wetsuits at this time of year, if so shorty or full?

It also looks like there will be decent wind from the south on Sunday and Monday where is the best place to go in the southerly, we are staying in South Perth but will have a car to travel to the beach.

Thanks heaps

You are from Victoria so probably you don't need a wetsuit
But for me I'm wearing my wetsuit in the ocean and river is warm enough now to go without the wetsuit.
For the kite surfing spots check WAKSA.

I haven't been wearing a wetty for the last 5 weeks since being back from the US, you'll be fine without one.

Hi guys,

If it's a bright, warm and sunny day you don't need a wetty, if it's one of those cold southerly winds, a wetty will make it a bit more comfortable. I only wear a 2mm shorty on the colder days but the water is OK at the moment, it's the wind chill that gets you.

You vico blokes should be HARD from all the freezing water and icy wind that you's get, so you'll probably sweat in a wetty over here.

Cheers,

Thanks everyone for the input, sounds like we should bring the shorty along just in case but the long one can stay at home :)

Where would you recomend this weekend for us to go?

Saturday looks like the only kiteable day and its a NW so anywhere along the coast like scarbrough or Leighton which will be closer will be good just not much swell though, bring a rain coat
