It is a happening thing .I have not tried one yet but have seen photos and got some feedback on it .The brief is faster turns more bottom end ,keep everything else .From what I can glean so far from those who have seen it or tried it it does this .
When ?Hopefully not too far away .(sorry can't give away more than this but will as news come to hand )
I must say the old niva seems to hold its own among the bright and shinys

Photos - are these the prototype photos already posted on ARCusers or new ones as I thought they hadn't even got the final design of the new kite yet. Nothing is posted on ARCusers...

kite is alot flatter as well i hear and more bottom end

A nice german girl Anje - who rides VIIs - yesterday at pinnas, suggested the new kite is going to be called a Scorpian? I think?? I was a bit dazzled by her to be honest (must have been sun glare

)

She has a girlyfriend who rides for PL in Europe. Apparently they are less fat but flatter and going for faster turns for higher peformance.

I must say Anje's one bag with 2 VIIs, board, harness and all her stuff in it made for a durn good travelling kit. No need to pack the spares and bladder repair kit

The Scorpion was released earlier this year and was designed primarly as a land kite however it can be used on the water. The new kite...well you will just have to wait and see....
